DreamWrights Grand Reveal

On Thursday, September 28, DreamWrights Center for Community Arts will reveal the improvements made possible by its recent $1.8 million Capital Campaign. This open house event will include a ribbon cutting at 6:00pm with local dignitaries including York’s mayor, Kim Bracey. A donor reception will follow with music and light refreshments. Tours of the newly renovated space will be offered throughout the event. Capital Campaign Co-Chairs, J.T. Hand and Suzanne McConkey, Solicitors, Ambassadors, DreamWrights board members, leadership, and staff including DreamWrights’ new Director of Artistic Programming, Laurie Riffe, will be on hand to meet and greet.

Capital Campaign Co-Chair J.T. Hand explains, “Through this campaign, our generous donors have afforded DreamWrights the opportunity to open wide our doors, to draw back the curtains, and offer more innovative programming.” The work made possible by this campaign will allow DreamWrights to increase the reach of its special programs and programming, and provide accessibility to all. The capital project achieves two strategic goals:

Grow Programs and Audience – DreamWrights is expanding and diversifying its programming, participants, and stakeholders, thereby meeting its mission more fully. The renovations enable DreamWrights to create better spaces for experimentation, participation, and learning throughout the building.

Revitalize a Landmark Historic Building – The investments made possible by this campaign ensure that the physical building is fully up to code, activated, and protected.

Suzanne McConkey, who also serves as Co-Chair of DreamWrights’ Capital Campaign beams, “Thanks to the generosity of our many donors, DreamWrights now offers a second performance space, an updated box office, and an inviting and beautiful new lobby, among other improvements. We are excited to reveal it to the public!”

DreamWrights will showcase the capital improvements at an Open House and Ribbon Cutting event on September 28th from 6 – 7:30pm. Refreshments will be available. Music performed by Smith & Brenner. The event is free and open to the public.
