DreamWrights once again opens up our theater and invites YOU to take center stage.
This independent arts festival celebrates the abundance of talent and creativity that lies within the community. Artists of all disciplines are encouraged to submit a proposal of their passion project to be featured in the lineup. Come share, express, and explore what is important to you!
TYPES OF Indie Arts SHOWS
We invite all styles and genres of performance including everything from theatre, music, comedy and dance to children’s entertainment, spoken word, visual arts and so much more. All performances should run less than 90 minutes and have simple load-in and out. With the full acknowledgment of the artistry of the set, costumes, and props design, Indie Arts celebrates the performance itself above all. Keep it simple!

Indie Arts Fest FEES
APPLICATION – no fee to apply
All applicants must fill out a digital submission to be considered.
REGISTRATION FEE
The registration fee is ONLY due after a show has applied, been accepted, and a venue secured. Registration Fees include 4 hours of time in the space: 2 hours rehearsal/tech time and 2 hours for the performance. Performances are not to exceed 90 minutes. This 2 hour performance time includes set up and tear down of the show.
$175 – DIANE CREWS THEATER Max capacity 160
$150 – STUDIO Max capacity 70
$125 – FESTIVAL STAGE Max capacity 200
(outdoors – patrons bring a seat)
$100 – RUTTERS’ CONCESSION GALLERY Max capacity 50

REGISTRATION BENEFITS:
- 50% of your show’s Box Office
- Marketing, including show listing on dreamwrights.org
- PR Support, included on festival press releases, social media posts, and listing in the Indie Arts Fest brochure
- Ticketing – DreamWrights will operate a centralized box office – online, via phone, and in-person
- Administrative support. We will staff front of house for all performances
- Basic Tech support
- 4 hours of rehearsal/performance time in space. (Need to purchase additional time? Ask us!)
INDIE ARTS FEST VENUES
DreamWrights opens four spaces for you to stage your creative dream! From outdoor concerts & events on the Festival Stage, to readings of new works or hanging an immersive exhibit in the Rutters’ Concession Gallery, to performances & concerts in The Studio or on the Diane Crews Main Stage, DreamWrights wants to help you find the venue that best suits your story. The Indie Arts Fest is part of the citywide York Arts Week celebration.
