2015 DreamWrights Grease Group

By appointment on Tuesday, October 10 and Wednesday, October 11, DreamWrights Center for Community Arts will hold auditions for Frank Capra’s It’s a Wonderful Life. It’s a Wonderful Life is the classic, heartwarming story of eternal optimist and everyman, George Bailey, who dreams of leaving small town life and changing the world. See what happens when George’s guardian angel, Clarence, reveals what life would be like in that small town without him.

Guest Director, Jaci Keagy is excited to stage this production. She says, “For many people, It’s a Wonderful Life is their favorite Christmas movie.  The idea of being able to bring that movie to life was so appealing to me.” She’s also looking forward to the challenge this production brings with 31 scenes and 28 different locations.

Keagy says she’s looking to cast around 56 people. She will be looking for actors of all ages, from 7 and up. “It is a show that really embraces a cast comprised of all ages and I’m looking to cast at least twenty men.”  She’s encouraging men to audition since the script is heavy on male characters.

Auditions are open to ages 7 and up and will be offered by appointment. Audition instructions and materials are posted on the DreamWrights website.  Auditionees will be asked to read a short scene from the script in small intergenerational groups. Those auditioning need only attend one audition night and should come prepared to disclose their calendar conflicts. Crew positions will be filled from those auditioning.
