Cleveland, 1934. The local opera company has staked its big gala on the world-famous tenor Tito Merelli, and hours before curtain the star is out of commission. With a sold-out house waiting, the general manager pushes his mild-mannered assistant, Max, into costume to go on in Tito’s place. Ken Ludwig’s farce runs on mistaken identity and slamming doors, and things only get worse when the real tenor wakes up.
