Based on Alison Bechdel’s graphic memoir, Fun Home follows Alison at three ages as she looks back on her relationship with her father. He was a closeted gay man who ran the family’s funeral home, which the kids nicknamed the “Fun Home.” Her own coming out as a lesbian becomes tangled with what she learns about her father’s secret life. This Tony Award-winning musical is darkly funny and heartbreaking, a story about family, secrets, and identity.
