Making a Scene! The Art of Scenic Design
(Ages 12-adult) (max 8) $64/Member $57.60

Each participant will create a stage model of their own set design developed from a one act script using a floor plot of DW main stage. You’ll get a tour of our set and props loft for creative ideas while working with Master Set Designer, Allen Brenner.
Lights Up!

2 Thursdays: April 8 & 15 6:00-8:00pm
Join our “Go To” Lighting Designer Tony Fogle and get an overview of lighting terms and equipment, as well as hands on experience hanging, focusing, and coloring lights. Participants will also learn how to patch, program, and control lights in both the main stage and studio spaces, along with an overview of some special lighting effects.

4 Saturdays: March 20, 27, April 3 & 10 10:00am-12:00pm
Using selections from the script for Shrek The Musical, participants will spend time in our props loft as well as create props from scratch to be used in our upcoming production. Along with our Technical Director, Jay Schmuck, participants will get an overview of prop creation and modification, while designing and completing a few key props for the show.

Longtime Costume Coordinator, Rebecca Eastman will take students from design to completion in the world of costumes. Participants will measure, pull, alter, and assemble different costume styles that culminate with a mock runway fashion show.

Logic Lessons Online

One 2-hour online session Saturday, April 3 3:30-5:30 pm via Zoom
Up your game with your online content through this basic introduction and overview of the features and functions of the Logic Pro – audio recording and editing software with Chris Velez, Sound Engineer. Students must have access to Logic Pro software.
Musical Theatre Audition Workshops – FULL!

Using material from two of DreamWrights’ upcoming musicals, Shrek and West Side Story, students will work with three different Teaching Artists to learn strong auditioning skills in three areas: choreography, vocal techniques, and acting choices. This Musical Theatre Audition Workshop Series is great for anyone interested in auditioning for these show(s), other musicals, or just for fun!
Workshops run from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week:
Week 1: Feb. 9 & 11 – Dance – Shrek
Week 2: Feb. 16 & 18 – Vocals – Shrek
Week 3: Feb. 23 & 25 – Acting – Shrek
Week 4: March 2 & 4 – Dance – West Side Story
Week 5: March 9 & 11– Vocals – West Side Story
Week 6: March 16 & 18 – Acting – West Side Story
It’s a SHOW! Build a Production from the Ground Up (Ages 6-12)
5-week series, twice a week – Wednesdays 5-7 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Feb. 3rd – March 6th Tuition: $160 Members $140
Working with a selection of Aesop’s Fables, students will learn how to build full mini productions by developing the props, set, costumes, lights, sound, and acting out the roles. Students will also learn about ‘voice-overs’ in our brand-new recording studio! Completed productions will be filmed on the final Saturday and once ready, the video will be sent out to be viewed by family and friends. This series is great for students who want to be on the stage, behind the scenes, or both!
