A preview of this World Premiere Play
by the People of York
This preview will feature a sampling of scenes from this new play derived by interviews with the people of York imparting their knowledge of the White Rose City.
A year long exploration of the City of York from those who’ve lived it. An evening of monologues curated from interviews of people from all walks of life sharing their stories about York.
Featured performers include:
Reverand Carla Christopher
Directed by Rodd Robertson
DreamWrights Center for Community Arts together with The Cultural Alliance of York County brought together a collaboration of six York artists to work on portions of this mural where figures release birds representing creativity and imagination.
The mural, subtitled “Rise of the Arts Phoenix” interacts with the sun through the use of several pearlescent colors, and was designed and largely created by York artist Brett Greiman. At 1,100 sq.ft. this is the largest work of art of his career!
The six York artists brought together to design and create the figures along the lower portion of the mural are:
Annelise Marie Vuono
Anita Murphy Williams
