DreamWrights mini-FRINGE!

August 19-26

Limitless performance  space possibilities!

The mini-FRINGE performance line up will be announced on May 12th at the Gallery Opening
for “¡MIRA! Exhibición de Artistas Latinos Locales”

DreamWrights mini-Fringe

fringe
/frinj/

adjective
not part of the mainstream; unconventional, peripheral, or extreme.

This is NOT the York Fringe Festival. The mini-FRINGE is an homage to the original and hopes to begin a wave of encouragement for the Fringe’s triumphant return to the White Rose City. This mini-Fringe, unlike other city-wide Fringes, will take place at DreamWrights and utilize all 39,000 square feet of  our Center for Community Arts. In addition to our traditional performance spaces DreamWrights’ mini-FRINGE opens a variety of areas to stage your show and encourages your creativity in selecting a site-specific venue to best showcase your story.

TYPE OF mini-FRINGE SHOWS

We invite all styles and genres of performance including everything from theatre, music, comedy and dance to children’s entertainment, spoken word, visual arts and so much more. mini-FRINGE shows in our traditional spaces should run 90 minutes (or less) and have simple load-ins and load-outs with all other spaces staging pieces that are less than an hour. With the full acknowledgment of the artistry of the set, costumes, and props design, the mini-FRINGE celebrates the performance itself above all. Keep it simple! As amazing as it would be to stage both parts of Angels in America it would not fit in the mini-FRINGE.

 mini-FRINGE Boot Camp – August 7-11 (5pm – 8pm)
Ages 12 and up
Tuition $105, DW Member $94.50

Be part of the team for DreamWrights inaugural mini-FRINGE Festival this August by learning alongside our Artistic Director, Technical Director, and the mini-FRINGE producer. Learn what it takes to present a week-long theatre festival by doing. Curate the seven different venues with seating, technical equipment, and learn how to operate and execute a tech rehearsal. Anyone over the age of 12 (yes-adults too!) who have a love of live performance and a curiosity of how things work strongly encouraged to sign-up!
