DreamWrights Center for Community Arts invites playwrights of every age to submit short, family-friendly fables for our New Fable Festival!
We’re seeking original, imaginative 10–15 minute plays that center animals (real or imagined — no human characters) and reflect DreamWrights’ mission to provide inclusive, inter-generational creative and educational theatre experiences. Submissions should celebrate community, build character, and model positive, respectful collaboration.
DreamWrights Guiding Principles:

- Build character (self-worth, confidence, leadership, respect, responsibility) through collaborative art-making
- Steward financial resources ethically and responsibly
Submission Details:
- Run time: 10–15 minutes
- Characters: 2–8 animal characters (no humans)
- Material must be family friendly and align with DreamWrights’ mission and guiding principles
- Five finalists selected by a panel of local theater artists will be read as part of our Studio Series on First Friday, August 7
- DreamWrights community will vote to choose one submission to receive a full production alongside other world premieres and Mother Goosed by Jason Pizzarello
