DreamWrights’ leadership team is carefully reviewing local, state, and federal guidelines as we prepare to reopen our scaled-back programming when we enter the green phase. Our new protocols will be prominently posted throughout the building as well as on our website. We ask that you be respectful of these changes and play your part in keeping DreamWrights a safe place for creativity and growth.

Our ever-popular summer camps are delayed by three weeks and will begin on July 6 with many safety precautions in place. From staggered drop off and pick up times outside, to limited class sizes and recorded end of week Sharings, we remain focused on providing an enriching experience for all. Due to smaller camp sizes, we recommend that you enroll your campers quickly to assure their favorite spot. We are also developing our Teen Conservatory series that offers an array of classes designed to advance your theatre skills. REGISTER HERE.

Our two productions that were in process before we closed eagerly await their postponed performance dates of: September 11, 12 & 13 – Songs for a New World and October 9 10, 11, 16, 17 & 18 – Pippi Longstocking. These two productions will likely see reduced seating capacity and possibly no intermissions in order to comply with social distancing guidelines. More on this as we get closer, as everything is subject to change!

The following three larger musical productions have been rescheduled to our 2021 Season: Company, West Side Story, and Shrek. We are disappointed not to offer them this year and are focused on their success in our 2021 line up. Marvin’s Room and A Christmas Carol are still slated for this November and December with possible adaptations as required by whatever circumstances come our way.

This coming Fall still boasts classes, new teen programming, and fund-raising events with the hope that our community does not experience a resurgence requiring us to close once again. We’re prepared to do whatever is needed, however, knowing that change is a constant.

We are still “Open for Creativity” with online content designed to connect, engage, and keep that sense of community alive. We are currently expanding our online Plays Aloud readings and will test run a “production/reading” of Pygmalion through the Play It Forward platform. This will air on Saturday, June 13 at 7:00 pm. Our Dream with Me – Fairy Tale Theatre project now includes eight tales and continues to delight the hearts of young and old alike.

We are still 100% open to any and all donations! From our highly successful Give Local York day to the seeding of an endowment fund, we are working hard to maintain some revenues while our programming is on hold. Right now, we are super excited for you to join us as one of our 3Cs Giving Circle Members. This is our easy as pie, monthly online donation program. From as little as $10 each month, to as high as you can afford to give, these dollars provide us with a constant steady stream of funding so that we can keep our Dream alive. Please join us!

Thanks for everything you do to make DreamWrights the community treasure that it is. We’re honored to serve you!
