Breaking The Old Code: John Terlazzo in an Evening of Original Song, Images & Tales

John Terlazzo has been writing songs since age 16, poetry even longer, and has been painting images since he was a small child. Since the mid – 1970s, John has been singing his original songs backed up by various incarnations of Voices in the Hall – sometimes a duo or trio and sometimes a six, eight, or eleven piece band. He sings his poems, subtle surreal otherworldly landscapes inhabited by curious creatures of Joy and Sorrow, Madness and Illumination – the kinds of creatures that live deep inside the Human Heart.

On Friday, October 20th, Terlazzo will sing alone – one guitar, one voice – and he’ll tell tales and stories of how these songs have arisen through his dreams, 50 years of Contemplation and witnessing his life’s travels via the unseen “obscure key”.

You can learn more about John Terlazzo’s concerts, recordings, and the writing retreats that he leads – The Flame in Every Hand: Writing as a Contemplative Act at johnterlazzo.com, hear his music at johnterlazzo.bandcamp.com and by joining his mailing list.

Rob Yacoviello Voice Studio has offered a Broadway Cabaret style concert at DreamWrights each year for some time now. We are delighted to have them back again filling our Studio with their strong voices.

Join the students of Robert Yacoviello & Crown Voice Studio for their Fall Cabaret!

These young talents are sure to serenade and entertain you with some of your favorite classic and contemporary songs.

Merrill and DeMond cordially invite you to join them in being those ladies who brunch! “She ate”, “he ate”, or “they ate” is a slang phrase used to express admiration and praise for someone who has done a great job at something. While there will be no REAL brunch served – you will definitely witness some “eating” on stage during this night of camp and song! They will be joined by three of York’s very own Drag Queen’s, as they shine a light on the beauty and culture that is York’s LGBTQIA+ community. We hope you can make it! They just know you’ll have a gay old time!… And remember, please be sure to tip your Drag Queens!

Merrill has performed in the Broadway National Tour of Mama Mia and many Regional productions such as Trailer Park The Musical, The Full Monty, and The Cher Show just to know a few.

DeMond can be seen in the movie Across The Universe, as well as the Off-Broadway productions of Walmartopia, and Click, Clack, Moo. Most recently he can be seen on the series premiere episode of Fox’s Domino Masters!

Please Note, no actual food will be served – but the performers onstage will certainly be serving*
