Cancellation and Refund Policy

We offer 100% refund within 30 days of camp/class start date and 50% within 2 weeks of start date. If you choose to withdraw less than 2 weeks before (including during the camp), no refund will be offered. If DreamWrights cancels a class/camp due to low enrollment, a full refund will be given.

Grades 1 – 2

Shooting Stars: Exploring the elements of a story through fun movement, characterization and improvisation, students create an adapted performance of a book from children’s literature. Foundational theatre and acting skills fuse creative and social experience by exploring the elements of a story, improvisation, movement, blocking, and characterization. This class is a great introductory theatre experience!

Grades 3 – 5

Young Performers: Bridging story dramatization and scripted performance, students learn the elements of theatrical collaboration. This class is appropriate for beginning or returning students who are interested in theatre- prior theatre experience is not required. Come and join the fun!

Grades 5 – 7

Acting: Students develop the fundamental techniques of actor training in a creative and positive environment with a strong focus on ensemble work. Learning how to connect the physical, vocal and emotional choices to bring a character to life, students are empowered through working together on theatre exercises and scripted material. Prior theatre experience is not required.

Grade 7 – 9

Monologue Magic: Students in this class learn the art of the dramatic and comedic monologue. Using the actor’s toolbox, each student will have the opportunity to personalize, rehearse and perform individual comedic and dramatic monologues. Prior theatre experience is not required.

Musical Theatre Workshop: This class will focus on vocal performance of material from Broadway musicals.  Each student will have the opportunity to work on the interpretation, characterization and presentation of a musical theatre number. Prior theatre experience is not required.

Grade 10 – 12

Musical Theatre Workshop: This class will focus on vocal performance of material from Broadway musicals. Each student will have the opportunity to work on the interpretation, characterization and presentation of a musical theatre number. Prior theatre experience is not required.

Shakespeare Workshop: Learn how to bring Shakespeare alive! Students in this class will have the opportunity to explore both Shakespeare scenes and monologues.  Using physical and vocal techniques, students will perform some of the most exciting dramatic and comedic work from Shakespeare’s canon.  Prior theatre experience is not required.

 

Ages 19 – Adult

Scene Study: With focus on intentions and clarity of action, students will rehearse and perform different dramatic and comedic scenes from the contemporary theatre.  Prior theatre experience is not required.  Come learn and join the fun!

Improvisation: Explore the joy of improvisation! Students in this course will learn the core fundamentals and principles of Improv, focusing on games and exercises that encourage trust, communication, agreement, active listening, character, status, and making your partner look good. Students will then apply these concepts to create fully improvised scenes. Prior theatre experience is not required.
